Everyone Wants to Be Ronaldo, But Who's Playing Goalkeeper?

Everyone Wants to Be Ronaldo, But Who's Playing Goalkeeper?
Friday evening. 8:00 PM.
A WhatsApp notification pops up.
Arjun: "Bhai, Saturday football turf?"
Kabir: "IN!
Rohan: "Done. Iss baar hat-trick pakki!"
Dev: "Main striker rahunga."
Aman: "Bhai, striker toh main hoon!"
And just like that, five friends have already imagined themselves scoring the winning goal.
There's just one tiny problem.
Nobody wants to defend.
Saturday Night: Welcome to the Champions League (Budget Edition)
The turf is booked. Everyone arrives wearing their favourite football jerseys.
One guy is wearing Messi's Argentina jersey.
Another has Ronaldo's number 7.
And Rohan? He's already practising his goal celebration.
"Bhai, pehle goal toh maar le!"
The match begins.
Within three minutes, everyone is running towards the opponent's goal.
Strikers? Five.
Midfielders? Zero.
Defenders? Missing.
Goalkeeper?
"Bhai, tu 10 minute goalkeeping kar le, phir change kar lenge."
Famous last words.
Because we all know that 10 minutes means the entire match.
And Then Comes the Real Problem…
Halfway through the game, one player gets tired.
Another has to leave early.
And suddenly, the teams are uneven.
"Guys, kisi ko bula sakte ho?"
Everyone checks their contacts.
One friend is at a wedding.
Another is stuck in traffic.
And the third replies with the legendary:
"Bhai, next time pakka."
Now the turf is booked, everyone's ready, but the match is falling apart.
Sound familiar?

Back to the Turf…
Final five minutes.
Score: 4–4.
Rohan gets the ball.
He runs past one defender.
Then another.
The goal is wide open.
Everyone screams:
"SHOOOOOT!"
He shoots.
The ball flies over the net.
Straight into the parking area.
Silence.
Then comes the explanation:
"Bhai, shoes ki grip kharab hai."
Of course, Rohan. Of course.
And that's the beauty of football.
The missed goals, dramatic celebrations, friendly arguments, and those teammates who somehow become your weekend family.
You don't need to play like Messi or Ronaldo to enjoy the game.
You just need a squad that's ready to show up.
