Community Guidelines
How to keep TagIn safe and friendly, in the app and at every meetup.
TagIn exists so people can meet up in real life, try new things and find their crew. That only works if everyone feels safe and respected, both in the app and at events. These guidelines apply everywhere on TagIn: profiles, events, posts, comments, chats, voice notes, GIFs, squads, ratings, and the meetups themselves. They are part of our Terms of Service.
The short version
- Be real. Use your real age, a name you actually go by, and real photos of yourself.
- Show up. If you said you're coming, come. If you can't, withdraw so someone else gets the seat.
- Be safe. Meet in public places, trust your instincts, and leave whenever you want.
- Be kind. Disagree without making it personal. No slurs, threats or harassment.
- Speak up. If something feels wrong, report it. A real person on our team reviews every report.
What we don't allow
- Harassment, threats and stalking. No bullying, threats of violence, unwanted sexual comments or advances, doxxing, or following someone home. This includes repeatedly messaging someone who hasn't replied, or getting around a block with another account.
- Hate. No attacks on people because of their caste, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar trait.
- Anyone under 18. TagIn is for adults only. Don't bring anyone under 18 to an event as a participant, and don't help them get an account. Sexual content involving minors means a permanent ban and a report to the police.
- Sexual and violent content. No nudity or sexually explicit photos, videos, messages or voice notes, even between consenting adults. No gore or graphic violence. TagIn isn't a dating or hook-up app.
- Fake profiles and impersonation. No pretending to be someone else, no fake ages or genders, and no bots or duplicate accounts. Your verification selfie must be you.
- Lying to get into events. Don't fake your age or gender to get past an event's age limit or "Open to" setting. Don't use a second account to get back into an event you were removed from.
- No-shows and flaking. Don't ask to join events you don't plan to attend. Hosts can mark no-shows, and your show-up rate appears on your profile.
- Spam, scams and selling. No mass messages, chain posts, pyramid or MLM pitches, or asking people for money, loans, OTPs or bank details. TagIn has no payments, so never trust anyone who says you must pay "through TagIn".
- Dangerous or illegal activity. Don't plan events for anything illegal, such as drugs, weapons, gambling or alcohol for minors. Don't pressure anyone into drinking, taking risks or going somewhere private.
- Privacy. Don't share someone's phone number, address, location, photos or private messages outside TagIn without their permission. Ask before you photograph, record or post people from an event.
- Gaming the system. No fake events, fake followers, or fake accounts to farm points or badges. No mass join requests and no trading ratings. Points earned this way are removed.
- Copyright. Only post photos, videos and music that you own or have permission to use.
If you host an event
- Describe the event honestly: what, when, how long, and where. Put the pin on a suitable public place.
- Use age limits and "Open to" (Anyone, Men, Women, Mixed group) for genuine reasons, like a women-only meetup for comfort. Never use them to target or exclude people unfairly.
- Treat every request fairly. Use Close entry when you're full, and cancel early if plans change.
- Look out for your group. If someone makes others unsafe, remove them from the event and report them.
- Mark someone as a no-show only if they really didn't come.
- If people share a cost (court fees, a table, tickets), say so up front. Any money is between you and the participants. TagIn doesn't handle payments.
- If you're a business running an event, say so in the description.
Posts, comments, chats and ratings
- Keep posts and comments related to TagIn: meetups, interests and your crew. These rules apply to GIFs, stickers and voice notes too.
- Event chats are for that event's group. They become read-only 6 hours after the event ends.
- Rate people honestly, based only on how they behaved at the event. Never use ratings to threaten or get back at someone.
Staying safe
- Before you go, check the event, the host's profile, ratings, show-up rate and Verified badge. A badge only means a moderator reviewed their selfie. It doesn't promise how someone will behave.
- Add an emergency contact at Settings → Safety & emergency → Emergency contact.
- The Safety Center (Settings → Safety & emergency → Safety Center) has the "Feeling unsafe?" SOS button, Share my location, and safety tips. The SOS button opens your SMS app with your location ready to send to your emergency contact. You still have to press send.
- If you are in danger, call 112 first.
How to report
- A person: open their profile → ⋮ → Report {their name}.
- An event: open the event → ⋮ → Report this event (or Report {host} to report the host).
- A chat message: long-press the message → Report. This reports the person who sent it.
- Someone in a one-to-one chat: open the chat's ⋯ menu → Report.
- A post or comment: there's no report button on posts or comments yet. Report the person from their profile, or email [email protected] with a screenshot.
- Something urgent: email [email protected] with "Safety" in the subject line, after you've called 112 if anyone is in danger.
Reports are confidential. The person you report isn't told who reported them.
Blocking
Block someone from their profile ⋮ menu, from an event's ⋮ menu (to block the host), or from a one-to-one chat's menu. They won't be able to see your profile, join your events or message you, and they won't be told. To unblock, go to Settings → Safety & emergency → Blocked users.
What happens after a report
Our team reviews reports, usually within 48 hours. Depending on what we find, we may:
- take no action, if we don't find a problem;
- remove content, such as a post, or hide a rating;
- lock a chat so no one can send new messages;
- suspend the account, which signs the person out everywhere and cancels the events they're hosting, until our team lifts the suspension; or
- ban the account permanently, for serious or repeated problems.
Serious harm, such as threats, sexual content involving minors, doxxing or violence at an event, can lead straight to a permanent ban and a report to the police. We tell you when we've reached a decision on your report.
Appeals
If your account is suspended, the suspension screen shows the reason and an appeal form. You get one appeal per suspension. Our team reviews it again, usually within 5 business days, and that decision is final.
Changes
We update these guidelines as TagIn grows. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app. The latest version is always here and in the app.
